1730 Amontillado Vors, made by Bodegas Álvaro Domecq S. L., has merited 97 points by Guía Peñin 2018, which is the best rating that the publication has given to a wine in the D. O. Jerez. The guide describes it as an “elegant and long” wine, and it also highlights its extraordinary value for money, giving it the only rating of five stars in its category, which is the maximum possible score.
Guía Peñin’s ratings will be officially presented on 23 and 24 of October in Madrid at the 17th edition of the Salón de los mejores vinos de España (Ifema’s Pavilion 2). In this edition the Guide has sought to highlight the best-rated wines in the Spanish winemaking landscape in a special area of the show called “Podium wines”, which will only include wines rated above 95 points. As a result, Bodegas Álvaro Domecq will feature three wines in this category. In addition to Amontillado, 1730 Oloroso Vors and 1730 Palo Cortado also set foot on the Podium, with 96 and 95 points, respectively.
Among the ratings obtained by the bodega, Fino La Janda also stands out with 93 points and 5 stars in terms of value for money. The guide highlights the wine’s elegance, freshness and good acidity. On the other hand, 1730 PX, another Vors wine made at the bodega, merited 92 points while Alburejo Oloroso obtained 90.
